Mdaki making waves in Sweden

Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Xolani Mdaki, has been impressive during his trials at Djurgardens FC, according to his agent Tim Sukazi.

Mdaki, who has been on trial for the past two weeks, has featured in two friendly games, and is “doing well so far”, according to Sukazi.

In the first game, he started at right back, and was moved to attacking mid-fielder in the second half – the position he started in for the second game.

“This is his final week of trials, and we expect to hear from Djugardens . The youngster is positive about his performance, and he knew that he had a chance to make a good impression. We believe that the club has seen enough for them to be able to make a call, as both the director of football and the coach were impressed with his performance,” added Mdaki. The 22-year-old can play both defensively and as an attacking mid-fielder, where he has impressed during his period in Sundowns development.

Mdaki spent last season on loan at Santos, and was due to report back at the beginning of pre-season when he was called up for trials in Sweden.

He is expected back in the country by the end of the week, but Sukazi hopes talks will soon take place with Sundowns.
