Africa Day – Roger Feutmba

The former Cameroon and Sundowns superstar, who was influential in Sundowns winning three consecutive PSL titles, starting in 1997, shares his wishes on Africa Day 2020 with the club and supporters.

Feutmba joined the Brazilians after the Nelson Mandela Challenge in 1994, a move the Cameroonian has fond memories of.

“When Sundowns contacted my club in Belgium, I did not think twice about Sundowns because I knew about the club.”

“We had good players such as Raphael Chukwu, Lovers Mohlala, Alex Bapela, Joel “Fire” Masilela, Eric Ramasike and Charles Motlhohi.”

The Cameroonian made a considerable contribution to the history of the club, and shares some of his memories with the club he still supports to this day.

“Bon jour!”

“I worked in this beautiful land many years ago and I was welcomed, by my team mates who showed me a great amount of love.”

“They gave me the strength to take out of me the huge potential I had. I greatly contributed to the goal and to the success of Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club.”

“Like I always said, no matter how great you may be as an individual, football is a collective game, and as a team we managed to achieve a lot together. There is also the fact that Sundowns then was characterised by its strong brotherhood spirit. We laugh together, we cry together. We support each other in difficult times and that gives us the strength to go out there and get the result we wanted.”
