Themba Zwane and Mamelodi Sundowns FC were charged with misconduct by the Premier Soccer League for delaying the kick-off of the MTN8 Cup match against Moroka Swallows on 12 August 2023 at Lucas Moripe Stadium when the Club’s players along with their opponents greeted their respective supporters, immediately prior to kick-off.
Mr Zwane and the Club pleaded guilty to the charges.
Mr Zwane and the Club would like to apologise to the League, sponsors, broadcasters, supporters and the football fraternity for delaying kick-off of the match and for any inconvenience caused.
