Mamelodi Sundowns host Baroka FC in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, a match that will be the 16th outing of the season for the defending champions and 15th for Bakgakga.
The two teams sit at opposite ends of the table at the moment and have a long way to go in the campaign if they are to achieve their respective objectives come the end of the season. The Brazilians popular attacking and defending midfielder Aubrey Modiba declared that a resilient opponent awaits ahead of the encounter.
“We are expecting a difficult game because every team that is in need of points they make sure that they fight for them, they haven’t been collecting maximum points and they are going to fight really hard. They have Evidence Makgopa who is a Bafana Bafana striker, they also have Sekela Sithole and Athenkosi Dlala in the middle, as well as Denwin Farmer at the back, so I think they are a well balanced team that works very hard.”
“We’ve watched their games and managed to analyse them so that we can be able to match them, overall it’s gonna be a difficult one but we are ready for the task. They’ve recently just changed their coach [and] the coach is very familiar with the team, I think they are gonna fight to get these points but it’s also upto us to continue with our run and get all the maximum points.”
The Limpopo-based team have not tasted victory in ten of their league encounters, they recently played a goalless draw against ‘The Cityzens’ over the weekend but unfortunately remain bottom of the log with ten points in their bag. Masandawana on the other hand will be looking to make it three wins in a row and extend their lead before heading into the festive break.
“They played well against Cape Town City, we managed to watch their game, they missed quite a few chances. Their coaches are gonna make sure that they work on all their positives and negatives that they encountered in that game and obviously use those positives in our game, it’s gonna be an interesting game.” said Modiba.
Mamelodi Sundowns face Baroka FC on Tuesday in the DStv Premiership, kick off is at 17h30. This game will be televised live on SuperSport Channel 202.
