Bongani Zungu Geared Up for the Golden Arrows Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to secure maximum points in the away fixture against Golden Arrows in the DSTV Premiership and midfielder, Bongani Zungu, trusts that the will come out victorious against the tough opposition.

Due to an injury, the Bafana Ba Style player had been away from the green grass and made his return during the game against Swallows. He looks forward to helping Bafana Ba Style secure three points in Durban on Wednesday evening. Bongani Zungu shared the team’s expectations from the opposition and said, “Golden Arrows is a good team, and their performance has been impressive as of late. They won their last game so they will be ready to fight. Their squad has a lot of good quality players. We expect a tough game, and we hope to walk away with a win.”

Golden Arrows sit on the seventh position on the log and have accumulated thirsty-two (32) points in the league. The DStv Premiership Champions will be looking to score against Abafana bes’thende, following two draws against Cape Town City and Swallows FC.

“We are used to winning games consecutively. Although we haven’t won in the last two league games we’ve played, there are some positives from those matches and we’ve learnt from the mistakes we made”, said Zungu as he touched on the team’s intentions to win the Wednesday evening game and go back to their winning ways.

The Masandawana Midfielder disclosed that during their training sessions, the focus has been on how the team can score goals in the upcoming matches. He mentioned that this has been the focus due to the team ending up with two goalless draws in the last two games they played in the domestic league.

“It’s a game that we want to win, and we also want to bring back the winning streak. We also want to strengthen the winning mentality. As a team, we don’t want to relax because we have already won the league”, added Bongani on account of coming out of the fixture with a victory.

Mamelodi Sundowns will meet Golden Arrows on Wednesday, 12 April 2023 at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban. The DStv Premiership fixture will kick off at 19h30.
