Brazilians Prepare to Face Strong Cape Town City Outfit

Another league assignment awaits Mamelodi Sundowns as they face Cape Town City in a midweek clash on Wednesday evening at Loftus Versfeld. After a near perfect start to the season, Masandawana suffered their first and only defeat in the Betway Premiership campaign over the weekend. Heading into another home game, they will look to bounce back to winning ways.

Speaking ahead of the match taking place on Tuesday night, defender, Grant Kekana, stated his side will look to turn things around after dropping points at the weekend, saying: “in terms of preparations, I think we are doing fine. Obviously, we are still hurt about the loss over the weekend. We lacked ball speed and shots at goal which is something that’s not in our DNA. So, we will be looking to improve that and get a better result on Wednesday.”

Cape Town City will come to Loftus from the back of a goalless draw. This according to Kekana, will see both sides looking to get maximum points. He claimed his side is anticipating a difficult opponent, but they have done enough preparations to ensure that they walk away with maximum points.

“We expect a tough game. They are a very competitive team with good signings this season. They might not have had the best start but we know their qualities, so we will need to bring our a-game,” said Kekana.

“Despite their start, they are still a strong team that poses a lot of threats, so we will have to be weary of that. We also have to show our qualities and make sure that they don’t block us from achieving our goals. We know what is expected from us on the pitch, which is to deliver good results for the Club and our supporters,” he continued.

Mamelodi Sundowns will do host Cape Town City on Wednesday evening at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off is scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.
