Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team are on the road this weekend for their second league match of the season. They head to Bloemfontein to meet the MarumoGallants Reserves on Sunday morning at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
The young Brazilians come from the back of a 1-1 draw against Siwelele FC in their league opener, courtesy of Oarabile Booysen. Speaking to head coach, Tiro van Rooyen, he reflected on their season opener.
“I think it was a good game against a good opposition. If you look at Siwelele’ssquad, they had a very physical and mature team. We had a few tough moments where we could not control the game but I think there were also moments that were extremely good. The match gave us a good start to the season.”
Meanwhile on the other side, the Bloemfontein-based side walked away with maximum points following their hard-earned 3-2 victory away from home. Despite the win and the high-scoring result, coach Tiro stated that the result proved Marumo’svulnerability which they are hoping to take advantage of as they have done their homework.
“We profiled the team and there is a lot of stability and maturity. We now the team but I strongly believe the boys will show up and perform at their utmost best, which is what we know. We are looking to create as many chances as a team. We have studied them and have seen their vulnerabilities which we will look to use that in our advantage to get a positive result,” the coach stated.
