Diski Team Looking to Conclude the Year with a Positive Result in their Backyard

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team is set to play their last game of the year when they host North West-based side, Orbit College FC, on Saturday morning at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The last game of the year remains a crucial one for all teams as the desire would be to wrap up the year on a high note, and this weekend, it is the case for the young Brazilians. Having recorded eight victories, two draws, and two losses after winning their last two games, Masandawana will look to end the year on a high note.

Coach Tiro van Rooyen’s charges come from the back of a perfect victory at home over the weekend, where they won 4-0, courtesy of Siyabonga Mabena, KabeloSibande, Simphiwe Mlondo, and Oarabile Booysen’s goals. Reflecting on the last game, coach Tiro lauded his side for an outstanding performance.

“Last week was a good week, and the win against Polokwane City was much needed. We had struggled with tightening the defence in our previous games, so walking away with a clean sheet in this game was good for the team,” the coach said.

Orbit College, on the other hand, emerged victorious in their previous match, tallying their victories so far to three. Just like their hosts, they will be looking to wrap up their year with at least one more win. Looking ahead to this fixture, coach Tiro admitted it won’t be an easy one.

“Orbit College is a good team with good players; they have just been unfortunate with the results, but they are a good team. We won’t undermine them because we know how teams are when they play against us. We have made the most of the time we had to prepare for them, and we hope we can conclude our year with three points.”

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will host the Orbit College FC Reserves on Saturday morning at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 10H00.
