Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team are travelling this weekend for their 21st league match of the season. They are set to clash against the Durban City Reserves on Saturday morning at the Chatsworth Stadium.
The young Brazilians come from the back of a victory in their backyard. The 3-1 triumph against the TS Galaxy Reserves saw them collect all points on offer, placing them second on the log with 42 points.
Heading to the fixture at the weekend, Masandawana have been gearing up to play a Durban City side that has been tough opponent – despite the unfavourable results – for many teams in the Reserve League. They currently are sitting 14th on the DStv Diski Challenge Log, having drawn their previous match at home.
The last time Bafana Ba Style met with the KZN-based side, it was in a festival set-up where the Pretoria side emerged the victorious side. Coach Tiro van Rooyen’s charges walked out with a 5-2 victory, courtesy of Oarabile Booysen’s equaliser and Bennet Mokoena’s double brace.
With the previous result between the two sides, this fixture promises to be a titanic tussle and an exciting one. Masandawana will be hoping to keep the momentum from last week and come out with a victory which will help them stay on the league title run. Meanswhile, Durban City will be looking to look for their first victory in three matches.
The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will do clash against the Durban City Reserves on Saturday morning at the Chatsworth Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 10H00.
