Mamelodi Sundowns’ Diski Team will resume their hunt for glory in the DStv DiskiChallenge this weekend in their year opener. They will face the Sekhukhune United Reserves on Sunday morning at the Isak Steyl Stadium.
The young Brazilians return to league action following the festive season break. They ended the previous year with a victory against Orbit College and will look to kick-start the year on a high note.
Babina Noko, on the other hand, will be looking to redeem themselves following the loss they recorded at the end of the year. Speaking to coach Tiro van Rooyen to preview the encounter, he stated his side will be looking build on their last match.
“Naturally, we will try and build from our last game versus Orbit College and keep that momentum and rhythm going into the Sekhukhune game,” he said.
“Sekhukhune United is a very good team that has a lot of experienced players. We will need to be at our very best to compete in this weekend’s game We have prepared well and will look to start even better.”
With a new year, the Diski Team coach also mentioned what the team’s objectives for the remainder of the season will be. He said: “We have to sustain the good performances we had last year and improve on the performances. We were not at our best, so we will need to show a lot of mental endurance in the next few games and show more consistency.”
The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will take on the Sekhukhune United Reserves on Sunday morning at the Isak Steyl Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 10H00.
