In the opening fifteen minutes of the match, the ball was going from the one end to the other, with both sides creating chances but not good enough to claim an early goal.
The first big chance of the match came on the 16th minute when Kabelo Sibande managed to break the line to find Simphiwe Mlondo. Mlondo forced the shot on the edge of the box but it sailed over the bar.

The visitors tried to fight back, threatening their hosts but the Downs defence was beefed up, denying the ball to find the back of the net.
On the 70th minute, from the counter, Downs’ keeper, made a clinical distribution which found substitute, Sechaba Gaseitsiwe. The substitute came from the left flank and wasted no time, making it three goals for the hosts.
