Diski Team Take On Arrows

Mamelodi Sundowns had a great start in the DSTV Diski Challenge as they dispatched neighbors SuperSport United by two goals to one. The clash with the Spartans saw the return of talisman Jerome Karelse and he was on the score sheet as he banged in a brace after a long lay-off with an injury. Coach Suprise Moriri spoke about the results in the opening game and the return of the striker.

” It a good game, both teams were looking for the points in the first game of the season, but I feel we wanted it more hence we managed to grab the opener early in the game. We are happy with the victory, a lot needs to be done going forward, we have a goal we want to achieve but we will take it one game at a time. It is good to have Jerome back, we know when we have him in the team, we are sure that we will have goals. Look it is not only him but the boys around him also have helped him. He is a goal-poacher and the more chances we create the better for us as we know that we have someone to put the ball in the back of the net.”

Next up for the Young Brazilians is a tough test against Golden Arrows. Abafana Be’sthende had a bad start to the season as they lost to AmaZulu.

“They are a good team, very unfortunate about the result they got in their opener, they are a very quick side and love to keep position. We must not take this game lightly. They play with high intensity; we saw what they are capable of against AmaZulu. Defensively they have a good structure, when they win the ball, they are very quick to get to the oppositions area and are a threat. We just need to make sure that we neutralize the and play our normal game. We are playing at home, and we want to get all the maximum points and build on from the first game we won”, shared Coach Suprise Moriri.

After the first round of matches Bafana Ba Style are in position four and will be hoping to make it two in two, the game will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium and kick-off is at 12h00
