Diski Team Target Three Points Against TS Galaxy

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will be aiming to continue their relentless pursuit of the DStv Diski Challenge title when they take a short trip to Tsakane Stadium on Sunday afternoon to face the TS Galaxy Reserves.

The Brazilians are coming from the back of a victory against Royal AM and that was a tone-setter for them to prepare for their second last game of the season. Coach Phuphu Mohlaba, the Diski Team assistant coach, has expressed his confidence towards his side, considering how preparations were throughout the week. He further stated that The Rockets are not a side to be undermined as they anticipate a difficult match.

“Training has been very good. The boys have worked well with a lot of quality and intensity and that’s something we are excited about. They have been preparing well and there’s good concentration, hunger and the quality has been high throughout the week,” he stated.

“They are a difficult team to play against. They’ve scored in their last five games. Even though they haven’t won the more, they are a very complicated team to play against. They are one of those teams where the log lies a little bit above them, so we have to be extremely focused. They have good aggression to create goals and are a team that’s tactically very well balanced. You can tell the team is very well-organised in the way they defend and they have a nice variation between the high pressure and medium pressure. So, it’s going to be a very tough game but we are confident that the boys are prepared. There’s a lot of understanding of what needs to be done from the players,” coach Phuphu continued.

In their last meeting with The Rockets, Masandawana handed their counterparts a 2-1 defeat and that according to the assistant coach, will be the confidence booster they need to ensure that vital points are obtained in the return fixture.

“They are a very difficult team and even on the first leg it was hard to play against them. They are a team that always scores but we managed to score more goals than them and that was important. That results gives us a lot of confidence that we have the ability and capacity to go and get something,” he stated.

The Mamelodi Sundowns Diski Team will do clash against the TS Galaxy Reserves on Sunday afternoon at Tsakane Stadium. Kick-off is set for 12H00.
