Divine Lunga Looks Ahead to Downs’ Encounter against Borussia Dortmund

Mamelodi Sundowns’ defender, Divine Lunga, is backing his side to get a positive result in their second FIFA Club World Cup match when they face Germany’s Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night at the QTL Stadium in Cincinnati in the United States of America.

Masandawana face the Bundesliga side following a 0-1 victory in their opening match against Asia’s Ulsan Hyundai. Iqraam Rayner’s only goal of the match helped Downs not only collect the maximum points but also top the Group F table. Dortmund, on the other hand, managed a goalless draw against Fluminense, placing them second with just one point.

As he previewed Bafana Ba Style’s second meeting, Lunga, who played an impressive opener in the tournament, expressed how happy the team was about the result and what they had done to ensure they won the game.

I feel happy about the victory, and I think we gave it our all. Everyone fought, and we fought to get the win. We had analysed Ulsan’s matches that they played before they came to the USA, so we expected how they approached the game,” the defender said.

When asked about Saturday’s encounter, the Zimbabwean international said the Brazilians are wary of the dangers they might face against their opponents, but are confident in themselves and the work they have put in to gear up for the encounter.

Everyone in camp knows what Dortmund are capable of and as a Club, we also respect them, but we are going to give our all on Saturday. As a Club representing the country and the African continent, we have a dignity to protect and because of that, we are going to match them for the important three points,” Lunga stated.

“They are big guns, and even though we are regarded as underdogs, where we come from, everyone knows who Mamelodi Sundowns are. I am certain our opponents are aware of what we are capable of. I think it will be a tough game. It’s not going to be an easy one,” he concluded.

Mamelodi Sundowns will face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night at the QTL Stadium in Cincinnati. Kick-off has been scheduled for 18H00, live on SuperSport TV and the DAZN app.

Wow wow wow, thanks for good display of football to our players, we lost with dignity, keep up your heads, dust up yourselves and be ready for a do or die match against fluminense.Tebza hardy boy, you had a bad day in office, losing balls, not tracking back to assist defence, letting Allende run overtime.I have always had a problem with Mudau allowing his opponent to receive a ball free before he comes to mark him, this allows dangerous crosses into our box, and hence his own goal.Second goal Mudau also did not track back in time to defend and the was a free header by the opponent.Lunga is always tight on the opponent hence there are no dangerous crosses from his side.If Mudau can be tight on his opponent, no player can beat him. Also Kekana was also not assisting Mudau when he was up.Mvala can organise that defence better than Kekana plus Mvala is faster than Kekana.Cupido is not bad however he needs to play with Mvala so he can guide him and tell him when to come out.Mvala can make Cupido a better player like he does when Kekana plays with him.On the overall Cupido played better than both Kekana and mudau however he must be told that when defending he must see both the ball and the opponent , he must not ball watch. The technical team and the coach were not a problem on this one, players were free to play however they made mistakes and that is human. When we crititic them ,we do not hate them we want them to improve.I repeat, if we want to win the CCL next year ,let us buy good centre backs, Dortmund is technically not better than us at all but they capitalised on our mistakes. We can beat Fluminense. Please play Reiners and Mothiba and leave out Mattews, his decion making lets him down at times, he is a good player make no mistake, perhaps he can come as a sub.Tebza must wake up or Aubass is waiting outside.Take out Kekana and put in Mvala and tell Mudau to be tighton his opponent and not allow crosses, then we will qualify.

Eish Ronza also made a big mistake which also affected our performance negatively, we can only ask them to play the ball up front when players are pressed.Stick to basics guys and playing balls inside is always risky to ourselves when we are pressed. Thanks to the technical team for putting in kutlwano and he made a good assist, and Modiba can also play as an attacking fielder and is better than many of the players that play before him, however we understand he is used as a full back.Modiba when offensive he can give you assists and goals.Allende can also be given a rest and we field Tebza and Aubass as double pivots.Hugo Broos does play them both at times. We also have a regular and key Bafana Bafana player in Mvala sitting in the bench who can always start ahead of Kekana.Mvala recently did not play at Bafana because of injury and I dont think Cardoso knows that Mvala is the key member of Bafana who took us to the semi final of Afcon .Sundowns can still qualify but we need to identify players who can do the job on the day, and make subs when we need to like today, the Technical Team was spot on in terms of their subs as a result we scored two goals after making those subs.
