Three points are up for grabs as Mamelodi Sundowns look to bounce back when they take a trip to Bloemfontein to face Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.
The two sides have already met in the first half of the season, where Masandawanawere the hosts and went on to win the game 4-1. Tashreeq Matthews, IqraamRayners, Lucas Ribeiro, and Sphelele Mkhulise were the goal scorers who won the Brazilians the three points offered that night. A win on Wednesday night, for coach Miguel’s men would not only see them grab the maximum points, but it would also see them record three victories against the same team in a campaign, having also met them in the Carling Knockout earlier in the season.
Masandawana’s last league game was also a midweek clash, where they traveled to Mbombela to meet a TS Galaxy side they were meeting for the first time this season. Unfortunately, points were dropped that evening, following a 1-0 loss, Downs’ second of the season. This fixture promises to be an interesting one, considering both sides are wounded, having recorded losses in their last league games.
Heading to their first match since that loss, they will look to right their wrongs by ensuring that all points on offer are collected. Creating scoring chances and converting them will be equally as important as making sure no goals are conceded.
Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.
