The Brazilians returned to 2nd place on the Absa Premiership log and continued to apply pressure on league leaders, Kaizer Chiefs with a superb 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
Mosimane was forced to ring the changes with Anele Ngcongca and Thapelo Morena missing out through injury, Nicholus Lukhubeni and Lebohang Maboe were pushed into the Starting XI. Meanwhile, Chippa made three changes, as Tercious Malepe, Silas Maziya and Meshack Maphangule all returned to action.
Downs got off to a flyer as Lukhubeni carved his way through the Chilli Boys defense and struck a left-footed shot into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season, in only his second game.
With Sundowns calling the shots, Chippa’s head coach Norman Mapeza has to make changes and introduced Thabo Rakhale in place of Meshack Maphangule.
The Brazilians continued to pile on the pressure and were awarded a penalty just before the hour-mark after Sandile Mthethwa bought down Sibusiso Vilakazi in the box, the Chippa defender was then sent off. Zwane stepped up and calmly slotted one home to hand the Brazilians a two goal lead.
Sundowns put the game to bed in the 63rd minute after Sirino broke through the defence before unselfishly playing in Vilakazi who made no mistake from point blank range.

I will always say let’s stick to our development side and stop buying players from other teams with exorbitant price whereas We have our own good players.
Mkhuma,Lukhubeni and Mkhulise etc are an example of that,if those players can top the MDC league which means they are very good.Pls Mr Mosimane continue to unleash them even though I wasn’t happy to see Mkhuma earlier on today playing at Mdc,he was promoted to the first team so he must play there let’s not waste his talent.
Nice win today hope We will beat Celtic on Wednesday to put more pressure on Chiefs, Kby forever
Coach Pitso is doing well promoting young players. If we go back to history these players turn to do well n commit themselves to the team than those we buy with exorbitant prices. Those we buy n polish they eventually join chiefs
I should think the couch is still getting him inducted at least just to settle down, I do not think he is forgotten him yet, just polishing him as he seems to be a diamond so for it to shine he really has to be well polished.Just take it slowly you will be surprised. this rope is getting shorter and shorter
@Fraizer…you are right member we should not put to much pressure on these youngsters they are still rough diamonds but with time they will be household names following on the footsteps of Ben 10 masambe Dolly and King Tau. You made us proud yedterday keep u the good work. KBY I remain.
Congratulations to the Technical team, the ever hard working Medical Team, Fitness team, the yellow soldiers for their continued hard work and the Yellow Nation for always Supporting the boys. I MUST congratulate Lukhubeni for such a superb performance and scoring a goal, The team reduced the gap to 7 points with a game in hand, we need to win @Celtics to ensure that we reduce it again to 4 points. let us paint Loftus yellow.
Ka Bo yellow I Must Remain. Luv this team and all the TRUE Supporters
Congratulations to Masndawana family for such a performance. People like us who know how to win the league, will remind ourselves that this is the second half of the race and therefore the train doesn’t stop from here on!!
Saturday we seen young brave sodier who doesn hesitate he just do what suppose to do Lukhubonl tought his big brothers this thing turn around thousands passes does not win game only goals win games
Well done to the team, though I’m not happy with the scoreline. We should’ve won the game by a much bigger margin. We might need these goals to win league and we’re still behind by 10 goals to the log leaders. Well done to Nicholas for such a great performance. I first saw him together with Harold Majadibodu in that Shell Helix Cup and I was so impressed.
Dalom i have ask my self about Majadibodu unfortunate no one to ask because i cannot pronounce his urname i also saw him Shell helix cup ja boy a gud player lets hope his time will come
That was a better performance , Chippa were lucky ,the bars also saved them from a really humiliation to a decent defeat, we also missed clear cut chances, guys must relax and be composed at the final third, Lebo Maboe in particular, he must allow his confidence to come back, he is still a very good player only that us we expect to see growth and improvement. He finds himself in those good positions, he must just be composed because he knows the pass will reach him. Basics of controlling and picking the spot and putting the ball behind the net. l think he has pressure and want to prove a point that he is there. We are persuaded for better things .We look forward to a thrilling Celtic encounter, l think we will play well because we do not have pressure. All the Best Masandawana mahle!
