The opening weekend in the Premier Soccer League season is fast approaching and Mamelodi Sundowns have had the details of their first encounter confirmed, with Masandawana set to take on rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN 8 Quarter-final.
Masandawana will be looking to forget the disappointment of last season’s first round exit in the competition, when they suffered defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in the opening game of the 2020/21 campaign.
Bafana Ba Style will be relishing the meeting against the Soweto-based outfit following the results from last season. Downs met Chiefs on the opening day of the season last season at the FNB Stadium and came out victorious, winning 3-0 on the day to make a statement to begin the inaugural DStv Premiership. The return leg at Loftus saw Amakhosi steal a 2-1 win which saw the Brazilians lose their unbeaten streak in the league.
The PSL have confirmed that The Brazilians will meet the Glamour Boys at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday 15 August, with the highly-anticipated match kicking off at 15:00. The match will be broadcast on SuperSport and on the SABC.
