High-flying Sundowns Ladies set to face TS Galaxy Queens

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be aiming to continue their perfect start to the season as they face TS Galaxy Queens in the fifth round of Hollywoodbets Super League.

The Brazilians have begun the season in some scintillating style, securing wins against Richmond United, Ma-Indies Ladies, First Touch, and Copperbelts Ladies to maintain their perfect start to the campaign.

Those four wins have seen Banyana Ba Style assume the top position on the log ahead of the clash against TS Galaxy Queens at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday, a strong start that excites Regina Mogolola.

“Starting the season on a positive note is crucial as it sets the tone for the rest of the campaign. In previous championship-winning seasons, we have started strongly, and we intend to do the same this year. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the team to beat from the outset. To achieve this, we will focus on our performance and treat each game with equal importance. While we anticipate a tough challenge from TS Galaxy, we respect all our opponents and will not underestimate any team,” the defender said.

The Queens are currently placed fifth on the log, having secured two wins, one draw, and one defeat in their first four games of the season. Their most impressive performance thus far occurred in round three when they stunned TUT Ladies FC, a team that finished third last season.

Thato Letsoso, a new signing who has seamlessly integrated into the team, believes that TS Galaxy can be a formidable force this season.

“While we have faced some strong teams with talented players in previous games, we believe that our upcoming match against TS Galaxy will be our toughest test yet due to their current position on the log. This fixture will provide us with a clearer understanding of the quality of teams at the top end of the table. We are optimistic about achieving a positive result and will give our best effort in the game,” said the hard-tackling midfielder.

Despite having spent only a few weeks with her new teammates, Letsoso has praised the positive mindset of the dressing room, “I have been thoroughly impressed with the high level of quality surrounding the team, from the training sessions to our match day rituals. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here and cannot wait to win trophies with this exceptional group of players and coaches.”

It is worth noting that TS Galaxy Football Club recently purchased the Premier Division status of Vasco Da Gama for their ladies’ team, TS Galaxy Queens, to compete in the Hollywoodbets Super League. As a result, TS Galaxy now joins Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM as the only DStv Premiership sides with a women’s team playing in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and TS Galaxy Queens will take place on Sunday, March 12th, at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 15h00. The match will be televised on SABC Sport.

They are a formidable side indeed considering they have former Banyana Players in Busisiwe Ndimeni, Mpumi Nyandeni, Mamello Makhabane, Nontando Vilakazi and Nomvula Kgoale . These are players with huge experience. I think this game will prove to be the toughest so far. These are the kind of matches that can prepare us for COSAFA and CAF. Although it is a team recently assembled, they do have the experience. So ladies let us go there and show our mettle. Good luck
