Mamelodi Sundowns have ensured that Captain Hlompho Kekana’s long-term future is tied to the 9 times PSL Champs, as he put pen to paper on a new four-year deal.
The 34-year-old South African international has made over 300 first-team appearances for Sundowns since joining the club in 2011. Kekana has had an illustrious career with the Brazilians winning four Premier League titles, One Nedbank Cup title, one Telkom Knockout Cup, One CAF Champions League trophy and one SuperCup.
The Skipper has been an integral part of the Brazilians team in the CAF Champions League, featuring in five games during this season’s campaign. All great teams have strong leaders and Kekana fits the bill, ensuring that he led the line by example as Sundowns remain unbeaten at home in the competition this year.
Kekana is in outstanding form this season with four goals and six assists across all competitions. This form has ensured that he remains invaluable to Sundowns and has seen him rewarded with the new contract that will run until 2024.
