It is another big weekend for Mamelodi Sundowns as they take on Swallows FC, in what is dubbed the top of the table clash the game on the weekend pits two sides who have the same number of games, same points accumulated. In their last game, Masandawana played out a draw with Bloemfontein Celtic.
Midfield maestro George Maluleka shared his thoughts on the coming game and he alluded to the fact that is will be a big encounter: “It is a big game indeed I think. They’ve been doing very well and I’m really happy for them especially from where they came from and why the club has been through. This club is very big and has a history in our country so I’m very excited about playing against them”.
The last time the Brazilians played against the Birds was in 2015 and Masandawana walked away with all the points.
“It’s going to be very difficult obviously because they’ve had a very good start to the season and they’re maintaining their performance every week so we also need to be vigilant but I’m pretty sure they’re just as curious about us since we’ve been having a good run as well”.
I’m not surprised really, we played against them during the pre-season and you could already see that they have a team and still were confident after winning the NFD so it was close that time as well when we played but it’s a different ball game now as there’s a lot more at stake so it should be very interesting but I am fully behind the guys [Mamelodi Sundowns] to get a positive result”, said Maluleka.
“Mido” has made seven DStv League appearances so far this season and has one assist.
“I think I’ve done pretty well every time I’ve been called up to do my duties. The main goal is to be in the starting 11 more frequently and staying injury free so I can contribute to the teams’ success. I am happy so far with my contribution so far and I can only build from here on to the upcoming games and the rest of the season. We’re on top for a reason and that’s because the competition starts at training because everyone wants to play and just elevates the team to do and it goes in our favour as Mamelodi Sundowns when we face opponents.” concluded Maluleka.
Thank you the great Mido for giving us this insight about this game I can’t wait to see you and Jali, Keke Matrapane teaching Swallows fc a football lesson 2moro we as masandawana we are fully behind our team good luck King George for the game Shap sky 👆👆👆….Sam
