Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Kaizer Chiefs in the 2019 Absa Premiership return to action without some key members to the squad such as Denis Onyango, Andile Jali and Wayne Arendse.
Onyango will still be kept out by the Knee Injury he suffered late last year. Jali picked up a heel injury which the doctors are closely monitoring thus rulung him out if this mouth watering clash. Arendse will be sidelined by a Calf strain which he picked up at training early this year.
Thela Ngobeni suffered a Groin Injury, while Sibusiso Vilakazi is still recovering from the Achilles surgery.
guud luck boys
we are too much relaxed, we are inviting them.not marking in the 18 area.
What a dull game @ FNB. It looks like our players slept at the shebeen or something like that.,Only Laffour and the rest of Zebras’ players seem interested in playing this game
It is the first time i watch Sundowns and feel so scared, you are right Member it seems like our players slept at the Shebeen. our defenders are TOTALLY not here. Hlompho is not the Hlompho i know. Khamma is really finished but we cannot utilize the opportunities.
Amen, Thank you God. Members our players were not in the game.it was like they never played together. Our defense was worse, our attackers could not make good decisions we lost the middle field, Yes Khamas game or performance is deteriorating, If i was the coach i could have brought in Phakamani as soon as the half time and the substitutes were point on. that was going to put pressure on the Zebras because the player can also score. to Brockie make a plan broer. you need to cause problems for the oppositions, we got lucky just like the goal they scored was a miss clearance from Brockie.
Can My Beloved Downs extend Laffor’s contract please because we gonna loose him for free and this month he can sign a pre-contract to any team of his choice.
Lastly welcome back to all my fellow Dawanas hope you enjoyed your festive season nicely, see you at Loftus in our next games.
Like!! Great article post.Really thank you! Really Cool.
that was worse than ever that sundowns players were too relaxed seem as if were not willing to play but to Brockie something must be done is been given enough time not coping team play as 1men down because of him coache i know u love him u invested lot to him unfortunately not performing so give others chance
Mzi, Brokie was not really a problem in my view. He was not getting any service, we were playing way too deep, parking the bus and trying to catch Zebras on the counter. Brokie is not suited for the counter-attacking football as he’s not fast. We were too scared of Zebras and that’s what I’ve observed of Pitso. He doesn’t want to lose to them and he’ll rather play them to a draw. He also even alluded to that fact in the post-match interview. Zebras were there for the taking, their defence was too shaky & unbalanced and we should’ve taken advantage of that
Three points in the bag thats what we needed most 2 move 4ward,winning has not been in our veins for a very long time.I thought that we wer heading 4 another eighth draw of the season again in the league competition.Pitso must play Ali Meza where Brockie is playing,we hav seen enough of Jeremy now he has failed 2 grab his opportunities he was not a Sundowns material from the onset.Again Pitso shud hav started with Lakay at leftback&with the usual pairing of Cotzee&Lebusa at central defence.Mabunda&Kekana r reaching their sellby dates now I hav a firm belief tjat Pitso shud start believing on Mkhulise now.We parked the bus 4 a very longtime 2day&according 2 my observation this is one of the ugliest football ever played by Sundowns since Pitso arrived a5 the club. The weakest defence in the PSL is that of Kaizer Chiefs was never tested today. It puzzles me that we allowed Chiefs 2 come at us to speak the truth Chiefs is toothless. To give them such respect really annoyed me thoughout the game. Its clear that Pitso never wanted us to concede or he was not expecting win from us but was planning 4 a draw.I mean 2 take out Sirino but not bringing Mahlambi, really shows that Pitso was content with this skop&donner that was peformed by the team.It was like watching a clueless Supersport United on its worst days. But to speak the truth Pitso must do away with Brockie,we know he(Pitso)is trying very hard 2 ease his conscience 4 bringing this boy at Chloorkop. There r better players at Sundowns who will waste no time to tell us that they hav arrived. We know that Sekotlong scored 4 Sundowns on his last game last season in December 20017.Laffor spent so many moths not playing but in 2 games he has already scored 3 goals.Be4 we start hating the boy Pitso rest him b4 he becomes a victim of booboys.
I agree with you on Mabunda and Kekana, even though Mabunda made a lot of interceptions when Zebras where on attack. What really puzzled me was when the coach mentioned them for special praise in tge the post-match interview. The coach also didn’t want to concede that Zebras completely dominated us, even thoutit was clear to everyone. I then realized that he was probably watching a different game from us. The biggest problem with coach Pitso is that he’s more worried about the oppositions than us, he studies the opposition too mich leading to him making the starting lineup mistakes of starting with Lebusa on the left ahead of Lakay
Jeremy Brockie has been given enough chance to prove himself but isn’t producing as we want. Zakri would have produced better than JB
The ill-disciplined Zakri
It is in reality a great and useful piece of info. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
We all know that Pitso is very scared of Chiefs and we cannot always rely on luck to win games,we have to earn our wind.We all know that Pitso is passionate about Downs and football in general but his main problem is favoritism,Brockie and Sirinho were never in the game yet they played more than 70 minutes.Meza scored in CAF game and Mahlambi played very well against Libian team the next game they were dropped yet Brockie is given chance after chance for doing nothing.Hlompo is no longer fit to play 90 minutes and Mohomi should partner either Jali or Mabunda, and Kekana should play CAF games coz we never gonna win it again with Pitso as the coach bcoz he is a caward of a coach. We should be killing teams by the pace of Mahlambi,Maboe,Meza,Ngoma,Lakay,Morena and Laffor. When you go to Liverpool u find the pace of Salah,Ferminho and Mane and at Man city is Sterling,Sane and Aguero.I liked Da Gama’s post match comment we he said he wouldn’t mind to either win or lose 4/5 than lose 1-0 while defending, thus the spirit we don’t hv frm our coach.Stop favoritism and cowardness and take game to ur opponents. We should be celebrating our win but we are complaining bcoz we hv a coach who is not very astitute.
That was the worst game i have seen sundowns playing for a very long time! Lebusa was playing as if is a centre back not a wing back that gave the chiefs wing backs plenty of room to attack fr om wide positions. I do not know whether it was a tactic from the coach staff or what! But that was a poor game by an standard from the Sundowns team
At 1 stage i thought the guys had the ball at they feet with no vission.. wreckless train.. yes the train was moving forward but always crashed.
I am not sure if we were watching the same game, hence i would not used the word scintillating that is used to descibe the game in the gallery pics for Saturdays game. Sundowns was chasing shadows in the 2nd half, Cheifs had us with proper planning and great game play. I honestly feel that my R50.00 ticket was not repected by Sundowns, just by the way the guys performed in the 2nd half. As for the 2nd Goal… a Goal is a Goal and i will take it proudly. As for jersey number 22.. ayi ngeke!
Perfectly composed articles , thankyou for information. 🙂
Keke is no longer a. 90. minutes player . The decision to play
two defensive mdfielders without
an effective ball playing midfielder was suicidal .. Pitso did nothing on that game. The worst part
Is that our coach does
not have plan b.. In this window plz swap Lebese for Reeve Frosler , our right backs cannot cross the ball both Moerna & Ngcongca.
Guys, let us support the coach and criticise. He is up own, he is trying so hard to make sheep happy by winning. Let us also support Brockie, he is working s hard to be what he was at Supersport. Let’s not think about booing, I beg you. Meza, Mahlambi etc. are players that were brought by Pitso same as Brockie, he love them too. Meza & Mahlambi are still going to play for s and they are our future. I love them but they are new. You can see from experience that at Sundowns, new players takes time to adjust. Look at Serino, Mabunda, Arendse, Billiat, Tau etc. They took time to adjust and now they are reliable and stars. Billiat was like Serino when he first arrived but Pitso stood by him and I remember he got booed at some point but later he was a star. Serino is still going to be a star, let us support him and the coach. The coach see these players every day on training even Laffor was seen at training that he is ready to play and he played.
The tactics on chiefs game were correct to me guys. You will remember that we used to play so well against Chiefs and lose the game. Playing well does not always win you games. What matters in big games is the score at the end. Big games matters and count most. You don’t remember good football when you are looking at the statistics or head to head, you count the results. Let us remember. In Pitso, we have the best coach. Statistics proves that. Sundowns is the best team in South Africa for the past few year because of him not Rhulani. First South African coach to win Champions League. We are unbeaten in the league & in better position to win it.
Lastly, you don’t necessarily have to win category A matches especially matches against league contenders, a draw sometimes is fine keep both of you not getting points but a point each. Winning a league is above all that is why you have to plan well for it.

Great post, thanks.
