Mamelodi Sundowns have returned home from their continental encounter and now shift the focus to domestic league duties. The Brazilians will be looking to add three points onto their tally at the top of the table when they face Richards Bay FC on Tuesday afternoon. Defender, Khuliso ‘Sailor’ Mudau previewed the upcoming fixture.
Coming from an away CAF Champions League fixture, the Brazilians left Algeria on Sunday with an overnight flight via Egypt. The team touched base at home this morning and is currently working on the preparations for their next game.
Khuliso Mudau shared an update on the team upon their return as they gear up for the homes game on Tuesday. “We are obviously still working on recovering from our trip, but we have an important game tomorrow. In the past few league games, we’ve had consecutive draws and we want to change that. The mentality of the team is positive, and we know we have to win this game.”
“Richards Bay is a good side, but we are going to head into the game with a winning mentality. We are going to bring in the right energy so we can make sure that we win the game and collect all the points”, said Mudau as he acknowledged the opposition and communicated the team’s mindset ahead of the domestic fixture.
After an impressive showing in Algeria for the continental competition, Mudau mentioned that the team has a 24-hour rule to celebrate a win or get over a loss. He added that the team has moved past the results. Bafana Ba Style are aiming to get back to their winning ways in the DStv premiership as they host the Natal Rich Boys.
The last meeting between the two sides saw Masandawana walk away with a 2-0 victory when they visited KwaZulu Natal. With the 2022/23 Champions determined to mark their territory tomorrow,aftern the fixture is expected to be a tough battle for maximum points.
Sailor concluded by relaying a message to the yellow nation and said, “To Masandawana, we would appreciate your support for the game tomorrow afternoon. Your presence and support at the stadium will boost us in putting on a good performance and winning the game.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will go head-to-head with Richards Bay on Tuesday, 25 April 2023 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The DStv Premiership fixture will kick off at 15h00.
