Mamelodi Sundowns has acquired the services of Chilean Midfielder, Marcelo Allende, who joins the Treble Champions from Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay.
The 23-year-old made 106 appearances for his former side and recorded an impressive tally of 18 goals and 23 assists.
The diminutive attacking midfielder is a highly-rated National Team player who operates as an attacking midfielder and can also play on either wing, he also led the Chilean junior national team at the 2015 U/17 FIFA World Cup before making his debut in the senior national team last year.
Mamelodi Sundowns have a history of recruiting top South American talent, and Allende is the latest signing from the continent, joining up with fellow South Americans Erwin Saavedra (Bolivia) and Gaston Sirino (Uruguay) at Chloorkop, who have helped make his acclimatization easier.
Talking about his move, Marcelo had little to say except for sharing his excitement about joining Masandawana and said “I’m happy to be here at Mamelodi Sundowns and to contribute to the success of the team.”

Also to Thapelo Morena, good work boy, two assists in one match, what else do we want from a player, you played well and with your runs ,you give us width upfront and create space and pockets to Shalulile and others to attack. It pained me to see how Morena and De Reuck performed last night,they were our two best players in the group stages of champions league yet they were benched for no reason in the quarter finals when we lost to a very weak team because someone puts his interests ahead of the entire Yellow nation family’s.On the positive side,yestersday’s performance was awesome,hunger was there,intensity was fine and the fighting spirit was magnificent.De Reuck,Mokoena,Morena and Modau were on top of their game.Very much impressed with the hunger and aggression shown by Mbule.I thought Mailula will be brought on instead of Ralani,the boy he is got a special talent.Very much impressed by Marcelo.Let us be professional enough and treat each game with same,respect, hunger and aggression.
