Mamelodi Sundowns painted Soweto Yellow in preparations for the upcoming CAF Champions League second leg clash against Petro de Luanda at FNB Stadium.
The Brazilians invaded Maponya Mall urging the supporters to come in their numbers and rally behind the team. In attendance were Coach Rhulani Mokwena, Andile Jali, Aubrey Modiba, Ricardo Goss, Reyaad Pieterse and the club ambassadors Teko Modise and Tiyani Mabunda.
The activation also gave a platform for supporters who have not been vaccinated to do so.
Pieterse said that “being here at Maponya Mall with the Yellow Nation was a great experience as you know we have not been able to interact with them but today was great and seeing how the supporters are so excited about the upcoming game gives us joy as players and we can’t wait for Saturday as we need the twelfth man to cheer us”.
Masandawana will be having an open day at Chloorkop on Thursday the 21st of April, where the supporters will have an opportunity to watch the team train in preparations for the game on Saturday.
“The Open Day for the supporters is a great initiative, it gives them a chance to see us at training so they can witness what we do as part of our preparations, I have never been part of it so I am looking forward to seeing them at our training ground tomorrow”, said Pieterse
