Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn against ABC Motsepe Free State side, Sibanye Golden Stars FC in the Round of 32 in this year’s installment of the Nedbank Cup. This was confirmed on Thursday evening on the launch of the competition in Johannesburg.
Downs will be facing the Free State-based side for the first time as they play hosts, after being drawn as the home team for the encounter.
In the Nedbank Cup, the Brazilians’ last involvement was in 2024 on the last day of the 2023/24 season where they lost in the final round against Orlando Pirates in a 2-1 thriller. Having been close to lifting the silverware last year, the Pretoria-based side will look to return to their glory days in this year’s edition of the competition.
Although aware of their opponent in the first round of the competition, dates, times and venues will be communicated in due course.
