Mosimane Expecting a New Challenge

Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals, with Coach Pitso Mosimane expecting a tough and rejuvenated Al Ahly.
“ Unbelievable draw, it looks like whatever we do we follow the same teams. It’s like Wydad AC – we always get them in our group. Like last year, the story begins of Al Ahly ”
Mosimane paid tribute to the Egyptian giants but expects a new tactical approach going into the first leg.
“Same teams, different games & a different year will bring different moods and a different mentality. I Believe Al Ahly didn’t know us and didn’t respect us, but after the results last year and us knocking them out of the quarter-finals, I think the mood will be different. They will prepare more for us, so it will now be difficult for us because they know us now.”
He was also quick to identify that the Egyptians will carry into the tie.
“They are under pressure because they are always the favourites and have pressure to beat us. We will see how it goes but the pressure is on Al Ahly, not us”.
The first leg of the encounter will take place on February 28 or 29, while the all-important second leg will be played on March 06 or 07.
Full quarter-final draw:
Al Ahly v Mamelodi Sundowns
Zamalek v ES Tunis
Raja Casablanca v TP Mazembe
Wydad Casablanca v Etoile de Sahel

Its a good challenge, for you to be the best overcome the best, now they know Sundowns, they will atleast do their home work too. Preparations on time makes it possible. Sundowns is not a small team in the continent , is getting to be recognized ,its becoming a force that teams wish to avoid. Don’t tell me AL AHLY celebrated to discover their opponent, definitely rough memories ran through their minds. So Sundowns must be confident and play their game because they know what is at stake, l just hope they cant wait. They are likely to meet Way Dad again. History tends to repeat itself and they must be ready to cross over the bridge that failed them last season.

Don’t allow them to put us under pressure, we must play attacking football full 90 minutes and do not conside unecessary set pieces.

I am wishing you Coach nothing either than the best. Play your cards right and you did it in the past and you can still do it again. Everything is possible. They are cautious now yes and I like the fact that you are aware.

  5. I agree with our coach. We certainly should not anticipate the old Al Ahly, we must prepare well and present a new game. Think of jumping into a top of the range car without knowledge of the features. The chance is, the experience will not incorporate the complete experience of the car. However if one jumps in the second time, the expectation will encourage the participant to explore further since the knowledge of the features exists. Similarly, Al Ahly may think that they know us, they don’t. If they come with the same expectation we will unleash a different car model all together. Lets show them some Rolce Royce or better a Chopper…

CAF championships WIN belongs to Mamelodi Sundowns. WE’VE GOT TO KEEP PUSHING!!!

Some people tell me that @Sundowns players are soccer slaves.
Well, I said : if this is slavery, then give them life-sentence.
