MOSIMANE PRAISES PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is grateful for the support the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has given the Brazilians in their quest to claim a second CAF Champions League title. Sundowns and the PSL have held a number of meetings to accommodate their domestic league commitments as well as Champions League fixtures that include a lot of traveling.

It was because of those engagements that Sundowns’ fixture against Polokwane City that was scheduled on Tuesday at Loftus Versfeld was postponed so that Bafana BaStyle can focus on their trip to Nigeria to face Lobi Stars on the weekend of 11-13 January.

“We have been living in this space for the last five years, it’s our life,” Mosimane said. “There’s no excuse about the workload. I must give the PSL credit. They have been communicating with us, even during the week and at night to try and help us to carry the flag of the country. They have shifted games to accommodate us. That’s why we have around 32 games to play from now until May. There’s no break in between.”

Sundowns will take on Lobi Stars after a big win over Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium. The Brazilians pulled out a great smash-and-grab thanks to a late goal from Lebohang Maboe after Anthony Laffor gave Sundowns the lead. But Mosimane downplayed the importance of this win in the league race.

“If you say that these points will decide the league then you aren’t thinking properly and you’re making other teams want to beat you,” Mosimane said. “I am not going to go into that space. I have to respect and tread carefully. We’re taking it one step at a time. But we have the experience. We know where we are. We’ve done it before. We’ve been here. This one, we stole it. Let’s be honest.”

  1. Plz quickly look at our ryt back , we are
Very thin there , we need a player that can bring in crosses.
    I suggest rwo players
    That our technical
    Team can have a look
    At Thembela Skhakhane& Reeve Froosler
2 In the absence of Jali & Manyisa plz give
    Lucky Mohomi a chance
    3 In the absence of
    Zwane. & Vila plz
    give Siphelele Mkhulise a chance
    We are not bad but
We need to improve our brand of football

Right back is our weakness ,Thapelo still lacking defensively,he’s having difficulties of decision making on whether to shot or cross. But he will get better with time.

I tend to agree with you Dawana. We played a very disappointing, humiliating and out of sorts game I have seen played by Sundiwns in a long time. Completely outclassed.

Maboe looks suspect. The boy is talented but there is a lot he needs to improve on. Nascimento, haikhona, there is too much favouritism here, Lebusa, the least said the better.

I say again. If we are going to rely on back passes and slow build up, and not how we used to play, quick build ups and hard running attacking type of football like we did when the likes of Dolly was still around, hmmmm! Am worried. Really worried.

      1. Pitso is confusing Lebusa. & Lakay…
He is playing Lebusa at cb & Lakay as lb , he change them while
        they are performing
My worry is that Lebusa has done well as cb now the coach is making
        Baxter not to call Lebuss

guys gud suggesting about the two Froosler & Thembele but i will say no Skhakhane no kzn player ever success under Pitso .he distroyed lot talented from KZN

  3. Mhlengi

I disagree with the comment saying Pitso destroy KZN players, Themba Zwane is from KZN, the boys are good bt they must play like solders, they must watch the videos of the Cafe winning team of 2016

      1. So is he buying them, that is not true member you know that.even our assistant coach comes from KZN. Let us stop discrimination.Ka Bo Yellow.tommorrow is coming.the boys are ready.

  4. Ja Members, I think we should not have released our players for the festive season.the players still look flat like during our game against the Zebras, the ball was bubbling around our players and at last Rivaldo instead of kicking the ball out for corner he kicked it back into the field right into the path of the player and he rammed it home.I suggested that we employ the defenders coach. We are defending too much and that team was not strong to beat us. Tiyani, Kekana were not at their best, Maboe was looking tired, Morena was struggling, only Laffor was performing and Phakamani. Ja i see trouble. We lost to the weakest team in our group.

  5. Dalom

Grateful but not winning our games. Pitso is being exposed big since the departure of Rhulani. He’s totally out of depth

  6. Moripi

Our is team completely flat, I don’t see signs of improvement anytime soon. I think the couch is more worried about losing than winning the game. What’s this thing of playing 3 CB, we had 5 at the back, to show that it was a stupid idea, they wasted a sub, by taking out Rivaldo. There was only one attacker on the bench, it tells the coach’s intentions. I think they out of ideas now. Nascimento waited for that guy to control and take him on, he could have pressed, also the penalty he was slow to turn, basically the defense was very poor. Something is not right at our team, we need rejuvenation, for players or the couching

    1. Themba

I agree member we are very defensive.we are parking the bus.5 defenders and two defensive midfielders.we had 3 defenders at the bench. We are too worried about what our opponent can do than us playing our normal football.

  7. Did u notice that Pitso was. Standing alone? Not consulting his technical team? Did u notice. that we played with 7 defensive players? Did u notice that the. Coach made only.1 substi tution?

    1. I hear you Member and i understand your frustrations however disappointed as we all are but let us not kill them remember we really need to support them to move out of this disappointment.
