Mosimane To Work On Players’ Mental Strength

Pitso Mosimane will work on Mamelodi Sundowns’ players mental strength to prepare them for Asec Mimosas after their long unbeaten run came to an end at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday.

The Brazilians lost for the first time in over a year after going 28 games unbeaten in the Absa Premiership. The loss to AmaZulu saw Sundowns fail to catch-up to Bidvest Wits who sit at the top of the league standings. But the Tshwane side still has two games in hand to make up for the three points they trail by.

“I am sad that we lost, obviously,” Mosimane said. “It’s not a usual feeling after going such a long time without a loss in the league. But it happens, it had to come one day. It came tonight, you’ve got to accept it and move on. It’s unfortunate that we scored an own goal and we conceded the second from a corner kick. That means that as a coach, I must dig deeper because it’s the same goal we conceded in PE (Port Elizabeth, against Chippa United). It means that there is something that’s not right that we need to fix.”

The Brazilians have had a hectic schedule as they compete for league honours and CAF Champions League glory.
“AmaZulu started stronger than us,” Mosimane said.

“They were much fresher than us, even with that we still had chances in the first half that we could have buried. But you know the story, if you don’t bury your chances it doesn’t help. They were fresher and quicker than us. We tried to refresh the team in PE. Imagine if we didn’t do that. It’s also the stress and the pressure to win. The stress is piling up on the players, along with fatigue. The best thing is to try regenerate the team and bring it up.”

Sundowns will look to bounce back against Asec Mimosas on Friday in the Champions League at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“What’s important is to get the legs fresh and the mind proper because we need the team for Friday,” Mosimane said.

“If you don’t regenerate the team, you aren’t going the right way and if you don’t work on the mind, you aren’t going the right way. The only way to turn things around is to win a match. There’s nothing else.”

Just stop your favouritism and drop players that are not producing..e.g Kekana, Mabunda, Langerman, Ngcongca and Onyango. Themba Zwane and Sirino think they are stars and make stupid and silly mistakes and don’t even apologise to fellow players. Themba Zwane has missed us a lot of goals in the recent games… They must take an example from Laffor, a complete professional and always a potential goal scorer as long as his in the team.

  2. Member is out of order, Zwane scored important goals for us Sirino goal assists are tremendous he also assisted Laffor against the Rats. Mistakes can only be done by people who try hard to achieve. If they are not trying they will never make mistakes. People like to criticise Hlompho and sundowns will never be the same without him.ask all Pls goalkeepers. You people are stressing yourself. PITSO IS DOING A GOOD JOB. Ok serious issues now. I must wish the yellow nation the best tonight.Assec will know us, IS IS KOM.Ka Bo Yellow ways ways.

Thank you for your comments. True Soccer has no therefore, if you don’t convert you regret at the end. The guys must not throw the towel, they must keep moving,we haven’t seen a perfect Sundowns yet, but through hard work and very narrow win margins and draws yet we have kept the focus. The issue of favoritism is just a talk of bitter people, some players have relegated themselves in the mind in the name of favoritism, you character can never be bought or cut and pasted, you have to develop it and work hard on it. If any player feels is not favoured let him prove himself to be a favourite without fighting physical war fight with the ball, let the statistics speak for you, players need to be strong and very strong mentally, joining negative people of continuous murmurings and backbiting destroys many footballers, you are employed alone be strong and don’t just join crowds, its end is self destruction and condemnation and eventually you lose self esteem. Don’t swallow poison and expect another person to die. Bitterness and anger, unforgiveness, grudges and all sorts of undefined unruly behaviours will only hurt you most. Man who are cowards seek for support and public opinions, be careful, it only leads to self destruction. You may not see it now but it would be a seed for the future.Character I like pregnancy, you can pretend for a short time, soon it shows out. Pitso is a good Couch, l feel pain when we lose but remember he does not play inside, sometimes plays whoever is given an opportunity whether by favour , default or by deserving execute your duty diligently for the team. On the bench your turn is coming don’t be busy judging, help us support together. All the best against Asec Mimosas

Guys .We must not forget that we lost 4 good players this year ( Khama, Castro, Tau and Villa)but we are still winning games.
We are doing well under these circumstances . Onyango needs to take control on 18 area especial during corner kicks

We need madisha back in our starting line up onyango is full of mistakes if his tired then bench him try ngobeni his hungry for game time. Kennedy is just standing there he doesn’t move or try to catch a balls so we don’t need him sell him .

Defence and goalkeeper is our confidence in the team

  7. Thabo J

I might ne wrong but I guess Maboe contributes very little for the team. The guy is still not at the required level.

  8. Thabo J

I might be wrong but I guess Maboe contributes very little to the team. The guy is still not performing to a point that he should command a regular start.

What’s your take on this members?

  9. Performance is gud
    but we must give
    Thela Ngobeni
    a chance in league
    games & Madisha
    must be given a
    chance on central
    defence. When we
    go away we must
    Keep position bcoz
    We are natural gifted
    natural.. Our defensive strategy
    must be based on
    keeping position.
    We are not west
    Africans or north
    Africans who can
    close the space
    without the ball

Maboe is young in the team, he may not be there yet but a work horse is coming out of the young man. His role will soon be clear . He is coming up very well. He just has to improve. That is a Bafana Bafana star in the making. He is a brave fighter, l like the attitude towards his profession, local boys must fight too to be consistent in the

Onyango must be benched members, look at the goals we conceded against Highlands Park and Chippa United, I think Kennedy was coming alright and his confidence was improving while Onyango was injured. Pitso must also try to bench Langerman, I am failing to understand why an experienced player like him scored an own goal.
