Mothobi Mvala Previews Home Encounter Against Durban City

Mamelodi Sundowns are set to return to league action this weekend. They are to host Durban City on Saturday night at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in North West in their quest to continue with their league dominance this season.

Masandawana’s last league match was in the second week of October in a 4-1 triumph over Richards Bay in Durban. They currently sit on top of the tally, with just a point shy of 2nd places side, making this encounter an even more crucial one to win. Defender, Mothobi Mvala, looked ahead to the fixture set to play in North West, admitting it won’t be an easy one, given how strong the Durban-based side have been so far in this campaign.

“We expect a tough game against a very experienced team. We also understand that they are participating in the CAF Confederation Cup and they have been exceptionally well. So, we are expecting a difficult opponent. I’m sure it will also be an exciting match for the spectators. More than anything, we are hoping to get the three points and we will do everything to ensure we get them.”

Despite a rocky start to their Betway Premiership campaign, The Citizens are not an easy side to play against, as stated by Mvala. They currently sit tenth on the log and registered a defeat in their last league encounter. Their redemption came in a form of a victory in the two-legged CAF qualifiers. This is further proof they are not an easy side to beat.

Mvala concluded by encouraging the Yellow Nation to come to Royal Bafokeng to support the team. He said: “We urge our supporters to come out in numbers and sing for us. They are the ones who give us that extra motivation. We promise them to give it our best and bring the three points home.”

Mamelodi Sundowns will do host Durban City on Saturday night at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 20H15, live on SuperSport TV.
