Motupa Has His Eyes On Three Points Against Galaxy

Mamelodi Sundowns will be involved in DStv Premiership action this afternoon as they take on TS Galaxy in matchweek 26 of the season. The Brazilians have had a strong start to May, winning their first two games against Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United, and will be looking to continue the momentum and make it nine points out of nine.

Since returning to full fitness, striker Gift Motupa has put his best foot forward and seen his efforts rewarded with a number of starts and substitute appearances. Motupa was involved in goals against Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates before finally securing his first for the club against Maritzburg United that saw him earn the man of the match award.

Speaking on his form, Motupa said he is happy that the technical team are able to reap the benefits of his labour: “I feel very happy to impress the coaches and helping the team to win games. It is a great feeling.”

Downs take on DStv Premiership newcomers TS Galaxy, who have been no pushovers this season and find themselves in the top eight. Motupa is aware of the danger of Sunday’s opposition and says the team are preparing for what should be a tough away encounter: “My thoughts on TS Galaxy is that it won’t be an easy match, because they have been doing well for themselves. But we have prepared well to make sure that we get maximum points on Sunday.”

With the season slowly drawing to a close, Bafana baStyle will be fighting on two fronts for silverware in the DStv Premiership and Motupa has his sights firmly set on being involved in the business end of the campaign. “My goal is simply to help the team more in assisting and scoring goals. As a team we just want to fight even harder to win all the remaining games until the end of the season.”

Mamelodi Sundowns visit the Mbombela Stadium to take on TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon, the game will kick-off at 15:00 and will be broadcast on SuperSport PSL channel 202.
