Nthabiseng Majiya Strikes Again as Sundowns Ladies Secure 10th Consecutive Victory

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued their incredible run of form in the Hollywoodbets Super League with a 1-0 win over City Lads in Saturday’s game at Isaac Wolfson Stadium.

Nthabiseng Majiya’s strike just before the half-time break was enough to secure maximum points for the in-form Banyana Ba Style. It was the second consecutive game in which she scored.

The result also ensured a fourth consecutive clean sheet for the Continental Champions, their 15th overall and their 21st win of the campaign.

Malebogo Shawe, who put in a defensive masterclass, praised the entire performance of the team, saying, “We feel great about the result and the way we played. Everyone contributed and it is a testament to our hard work and unity. We are focused on maintaining this level of performance and continuing our strong run in the league. The support from our supporters has also been incredible and we are motivated to keep delivering for them.”

Cimone Sauls believes the Brazilians could have scored more but acknowledged that securing the win was crucial. She said, “We had several opportunities to extend our lead, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. Despite that, the main thing is we got the three points. We will work on finishing those chances in training and aim to be even more effective in our upcoming matches.”

Banyana Ba Style has now amassed 65 points this season, thanks to 21 wins in 24 games. They lead the league with 85 goals scored and have conceded just 12, boasting the league’s strongest defense.

Nthabiseng Majiya has now tied Boitumelo Rabale at the top of the Sundowns Ladies’ scoring chart with 12 goals. Miche Minnies has nine goals, while Andisiwe Mgcoyi is tied with Refilwe Tholakele on seven strikes. Lebohang Ramalepe has six goals for the season. Salome Kekana, Asanda Hadebe, Zanele Madonsela, Melinda Kgadiete and Karabo Dhlamini have each scored three goals, while Kholosa Biyana, Regina Mogolola and Rhoda Mulaudzi have two goals apiece. Cimone Sauls, Malebogo Shawe, Bambanani Mbane, Lehlogonolo Mashigo, Khunjulwa Mali, Karabo Makhurubetshi and Lelona Daweti have each found the net once.
