Title: Nuno Santos: We Have to Go with the Right Mentality
Mamelodi Sundowns will be back in action on Tuesday night for a Betway Premiership fixture when they host Marumo Gallants for their reverse meeting at Loftus Versfeld.
Bafana Ba Style now shift their focus to league action following their victory in the CAF Champions League over the weekend. Their focus is now fully on the domestic league as they continue with their title defence.
They face a Marumo Gallants side who they met earlier in the season. The meeting had ended in a 1-1 draw away from home. The Bloemfontein-side are currently looming in the relegation zone and despite that fact, Masandawana will not be resting in their laurels, according to Nuno Santos.
Previewing the midweek fixture, Santos stated that his side is working towards getting all points on offer ad that’s what they are only focusing on.
“In football there is no easy game. We have to go with the right mentality, intentions and focus to the game. If we do that, we can do well and have a great game. We can be able to walk away with the three points.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will go head-to-head with Marumo Gallants on Tuesday night at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off has been scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.

Firstly i would like to congratulate management and the technical team for making the team play the way it is playing now,it too a lot of hard work and sacrifices.Nothing can beat a play playing with the smile on their faces. Now let me talk about the elephant in the room which is the psl management. What they are doing to us is pure sabotage and jealousy combined and also lack of humanity and appreciation.Sundowns is representing the whole of SADC it it should be afforded conducive environment to that without any pressure,if it happens we fail it must be by our own doing not because the management of the league has made our road very difficult. The only team not allowed to be behind with regard to the games played is Sundowns. If we can check, last Pirates knocked out in the semi final of champions league and we played two more games than the in the same competition yet they finished the league after Sundowns. It only happens in SA for a team to finish after the league has already been won.Teams like Chiefs has been behind in the games played for the past four weeks if no six but,we are denied an opportunity to be behind for one week,i would only understand if all teams played the same number of games by now. I stand to be corrected,i think we are the only team in the world that has played more games this calendar year, from January until now.God is great you can’t win a league with tricks and also is case of no team can win champions league for the second time before my team.My message to the players and technical team, don’t let any external force to derail you.Good luck for tonight’s game.God bless.
The PSL do not care about our involvement at CAF competitions …. In fact they want to see us fatiqued so that our nearest rival Orlando Pirates could have an advantage to win the league. At the beginning of the season while Pirates were still in the early qualifying rounds they got so many postponement because their chairman runs the PSL. BUt what I like about our team is the mentality to play against all odds.. the coach once said “… under normal conditions Sundowns will win the league and under abnormal conditions Sundowns will still win the league. The timing of us picking our form is very spot on … and teams know once we start winning games back to back it already becomes ominous that we are gunning for the ninth league trophy in a row and it will take some doing for Pirates our realistic competitor to stop us … To coach Cardoso … my message is that when fans were calling for your head it was mainly about us not recognizing our team and our culture/style of play which he had take away … but ever since we played MC Alger we noticed our team was back …. that was our concern… Sundowns supporters do not mind losing or drawing games as long as we see our style of play being dished out on the field … May the technical team and the players keep focus because now it is Squeeky bum time and we know how to win this thing ….ALL THE BEST FOR NUMBER 9 IN A ROW
