Mamelodi Sundowns and PUMA released their new home and away kit on Monday, 25 July for the 2022/23 season. PUMA continues as the Masandawana’s kit manufacturer and the brand officially dubbed the design as “We Rise Again”, to represent The Brazilians desire to continue dominating the African football space. Slovak international, Pavol Safranko described the club’s new jersey and spotted his favorite between the home and away jersey:
“I like the symbols which are about the culture. I like the colors of the jersey and I like this one more than the one from the previous season. [If I were to pick between the home and away jersey], I would pick the home jersey, I like it more because of its colors.”
The 28-year-old forward scored his first goal for Downs in the MTN 8 semi final against Golden Arrows to take Masandawana into the final of the Wafa Wafa competition, which they went on to win. Safranko played an integral role in Bafana Ba Style’s 2021/22 campaign, scoring goals when the team needed an outstanding strike to win the battle.
“I think I scored more important goals than they were beautiful, but I am looking forward to scoring more goals and to also win more trophies and play more games.” Said the striker.
“The main target is the Champions League and I am pretty sure that everyone is also focused on that, I trust that we can bring it home.”
