Disebo has always been a Mamelodi Sundowns supporter and hearing about the #SingWithSundowns competition, she saw an opportunity to celebrate with the team by composing a song. She worked on her winning song together with her son, Refiloe Duncan Matlosa who is not a supporter of the team but works as a DJ.
She is not a recording artist as the moment but would love to be one someday. “I have always wanted to sing but my father said singing was a wrong career choice for me, so I gave up on that dream. When I heard on the radio that my song had won, I realised that my dream had come true, so this is motivating me to continue working on my dream.
Where I stay in Tembisa, even before covid-19 I have seen a lot of children who are struggling with basic needs such as school uniform and food. Should I win the Million Rands, I will invest in my community and help these children. I know how it feels to go to school with torn clothes or hungry, so I want to help and make a difference.”
