Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn to face AmaZulu in the opening round of the Telkom Knockout Cup, which was conducted on Wednesday.
Our captain Hlompho Kekana was at the draw and has reacted to the outcome ahead of next weekend’s clash in Tshwane.
“I have watched three of AmaZulu’s last matches under the new coach (Jozef Vukusic) and I can see they are playing well. When I look at that team, they are solid and dangerous. They have good players and Bongi Ntuli is still there leading the line,” said the skipper.
Downs were able to secure a home game and Kekana wants us to continue our good form in front of the supporters
The skipper helped the club lift this trophy back in December 2015 and would love nothing else other than lifting the cup again.
“We know the responsibility that we carry as a team like Mamelodi Sundowns. We just want to try and win every match that we play. It’s not going to be easy because everyone comes against us highly motivated, but we want to continue our good run. But we are playing at home in this TKO fixture and we have been doing well at home so far this season and the plan is to continue with the same momentum. It would be nice to win this one in our own backyard,” he said.
