Ahead of Tuesday’s encounter against Royal AM, midfield maestro, Sphelele Mkhulise has asserted that his side will not give away the maximum points away from home. Coming from the back of a 1-0 win against Thwihli Thwahla at the weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns will look to do a double on them when they meet at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
Mkhulise, who was named Man of the Match against the KwaZulu Natal- based outfit, looked back on his performance and stated that heading to the return fixture, he will improve together with the team to get the desired results.
“I’m confident to play Royal AM again and I was pleased with my performance in our last encounter, which was against them, even though I can improve. I think the entire team is ready to face Royal AM again,” he said.
Currently 14th on the log, Coach John Maduka’s charges will want to retaliate and collect points, this is according to the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy product. Despite him believing the encounter won’t be a walk in the park, he asserted that his side would put up a fight to ensure that three points are added on their tally.
“It will be a difficult game because they will want to come at us. They are currently 14th on the log, so they will want to fight, especially because they will now be playing at home. They will be looking to get the three points, which we won’t give them because we also have our own objectives as a team.”
Mkhulise concluded by encouraging the Yellow Nation to come in numbers to support the team in what will be another mouthwatering encounter. He said: “the supporters should expect a beautiful game of football filled with goals and we urge them to come out in numbers at the Harry Gwala Stadium to experience the shoe, shine and piano. We promise to make them proud in Durban.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will do clash with Royal AM on Tuesday evening at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Kick-off is set for 19H30.
