March
Sundowns Ladies kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 2-0 win over JVW FC, with Boitumelo Rabale scoring one goal and the second coming via an own goal from the opposition. They followed this with a tight 1-0 victory against UWC, again seeing Rabale find the back of the net to secure the win. The team’s early performances demonstrated both clinical finishing and defensive resilience, setting the tone for the season.
April
The team carried their momentum into April, defeating the University of Cape Town 2-0 thanks to goals from Isabella Ludwig and Boitumelo Rabale. They then overcame Ezemvelo Women’s FC 2-0 with strikes from Nonhlanhla Mthandi and Thato Letsoso. Sundowns Ladies produced a goal-fest in an 8-0 Demolition of Royal AM, with Nonhlanhla Mthandi scoring a hat-trick, Isabella Ludwig netting twice, and goals from Melinda Kgadiete, Lehlogonolo Mashigo, and Refilwe Tholakele.
A 0-0 draw against Copperbelts offered a rare defensive battle, but the Brazilians bounced back emphatically, thrashing City Lads 6-0. Nthabiseng Majiya starred with four goals, while Boitumelo Rabale and Tiisetso Makhubela also scored, underlining the depth and firepower of Coach Godfrey’s squad.
May
The winning run continued into May as Sundowns Ladies edged the University of Fort Hare 1-0, with Isabella Ludwig again on the scoresheet. A 2-0 victory over First Touch followed, with Rabale and Melinda Kgadiete scoring to keep the team on course.
In a display of attacking dominance, Sundowns Ladies crushed Richmond United 6-0, with braces from Boitumelo Rabale and Melinda Kgadiete, plus goals from Bambanani Mbane and young talent Katleho Malebana. The month ended with another commanding performance in the Tshwane Derby, as TUT Matsatsantsa were beaten 4-0, thanks to goals from Boitumelo Rabale (2X), Nonhlanhla Mthandi, and Nthabiseng Majiya.
From March to May, Sundowns Ladies demonstrated a lethal combination of experienced goal scorers and emerging talent, maintaining their status as one of the league’s most formidable sides.
