The Mamelodi Sundowns reserve team who play in the DStv Diski challenge registered their first win of the season and also managed to have a clean sheet after playing three games. The Brazilians also took on Golden Arrows, the same team that played against the senior team.
Coach Surprise Moriri said, “We started the game very well as we dominated the game and could have scored a lot of goals even four but unfortunately we could not convert those chances as we went to the half time with the score still locked with no goal”.
Masandawana has now registered four points this season with a win, a draw, and a loss in the opening game.
“We made a couple of changes in the break and the aim was to get a goal in the first fifteen minutes and that did not happen even though we were creating chances. We managed to get a goal from Keegan Allan from a set play. The second goal was scored by Riandre Vries who calmly chipped the ball over an oncoming keeper. We finished the game with two goals and took our first three points and overall it was a good game from the boys,” coach Surprise Moriri.
