The DSTV Premiership Kicks Off With A Mouth-watering Clash For Masandawana

A new season, new sponsor and a new dawn for South African football are just a few days away. The Premier Soccer League recently announced a new sponsor for the elite league. The new sponsors are DSTV and the top tier league of South African football will be known as the DSTV Premiership.

In the last five seasons, Masandawana has won the league title four times in a row. Winning it three times in a row for the second time. The last time was in 1997-98,98-99 and 99-00. Mamelodi Sundowns have won the league on ten occasions.

The first game of the 2020/21 season is a challenging clash with last year’s runners-up Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns travels to the FNB Stadium. The first five games see Masandawana playing at home on three occasions with a trip to Cape Town to face the Citizens.

The Tshwane derby takes place on the 16th of January 2021 away from home with the return leg on the 19 of May at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Fixtures dates are subject to change due to Masandawana’s participation in continental football.

The chase for the first winners of the newly introduced DSTV Premiership is on and Mamelodi Sundowns will go out and fight to bring the trophy to Chloorkop.

I wonder why people who r associated with Sundowns especialy the editor why they continue 2 give us the wrong information that we have won the league championship 10 times, when it comes to Sundowns records where do they go.If we talk about Kaizer Chiefs it will b said they won MTN8 15 times,Telkom 13 times. But when it comes to Sundowns no-one and including our officials will highlight that we r 13 times winners of the league. In England no-one will say Liverpool has won the league once last season, bcoz they know Liverpool has won the league more than 19 times although Liverpool last won the league in 1991 before it changed to the new format of premier league.I hate when an official of our club will short change us&reduce us 2 ten time champions.zWe r 13 time champions. We have gone past ladecima 3 years back but people are still talking about Sundowns winning ladecima. When Madrid won the ladecima of UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,they include the years when it was called European Cup&no record is trown out of the window. Then why do we do that?

Anyway I have seen how Sundowns performed on Sunday.Theres nothing stopping us from winning against Chiefs;and there were a lot of positives agaist Celtics. The only difference is that they scored&we did not.I so wish that Kompela,Rhulani&Mngqithi will respect each other and help each other 2 steer the team forward&no one must b above one another, for the successes of the club.If football is anything go by theres nothing about Kaizer Chiefs;its just they won against Maritzburg&lot of noise afterwards. To the 3 coaches go &make a difference for the love of this beautiful club called Sundowns,we r fully behind u.Create your own legacy but remember u r no longer under the shadows of Pitso now,do not b afraid to make decisions that will propel this team forward.Kaboyelo I remain.

I gree with you on this one! Morena could be played infront of Mobbie! Mobbie is a full and not a wing like Lakay and Modisa. His strengh is on defence than attack. Domingo is too similar to Serino and Zwane! he should compete with those 2 for position. Morena will give us the width on the right without a burden of going back to defend. My other proposal will to drop Rivaldo from the central midfield. Let compete with Madisha for the right position of the centre half. That space where he place must given to a midfielder that can carry the ball forward (Jali and George should compete fro that position. Kekana should compete with Margeman and Mvala as well. He must not be given all the games or entire 90 mins like what happens during Pitso’s era. He is aging and tends to loose position very easy. Zwane and Serino must be pushed by Domingo, Kabinga, mkhuma, and Mkhulise. Up front we can go with 2 strikers if we play defensive teams like Celtic. Shalulile is an obvious first choice. He wakes hard that guy! The balls must be delivered quicker for him to score. At i noticed we pass the ball very slowly and this gives time for the opposition to close the gaps. This is my opinion guys!

Our team Madoda, these boys will make us proud I’m telling you. We have bought a very balanced team, just pray we don’t start very slow like we always do. I wish our players can respect the decision taken by Sundowns regarding choice of our coaches.
