The preparations have been tough without key players- Coach Rulani Mokwena

Its match day thirteen and Mamelodi Sundowns have another top of the table clash against Swallows FC at home. Masandawana and The Birds have played the same number of games, both sides have not lost a game and have the same number of points with Bafana BaStyle having the better goal difference.

“The preparations have been tough without key players, we have enough within the squad, we are a little bit thin defensively. Players like Ricardo Nascimento, Lyle Lakay, Bangaly Soumahoro and Khuliso Mudau are out due to medical reasons. Brian Onyango is also out with a grade two thigh injury. We will find a solution as we have enough in the team so that we can adapt. At this moment we have a huge hospital ward but these are problems every club is facing and we have to do with what we have”, said Coach Rulani Mokwena

Masandawana faces a side that is rejuvenated and is playing very well since they got promoted from the GladAfrica Championship.

“The opposition are very good, they have a winning momentum from the National First Division and they have that feeling of winning games and they use that. We just have to make sure we play very well, we understand the game, we must work extremely hard to get the maximum points and we are coming up against a side that has nothing to lose and that is why they play with so much freedom and bravery”.

“They are an interesting team with some good young and energetic players like Segotla and Thibedi. The experience of Gamaldien, Hlanti and Matlaba and have a good bench. We have checked their last couple of games, we did a bit of work like every match. It is a game we have to win and at Sundowns every game we play to win. If we stay true to that we should be okay”, concluded Coach Rulani Mokwena.

I missed Pitso for one thing, being harsh on this players, our Wisemen treat this players with kid gloves especially Maboe and Onyango.
Onyango is too casual a player at 36 years old is still doesn’t know how to distribute the ball and he takes too long to distribute and sometimes he do fancy things one day Onyango will cost us big time. Our goalkeeper coach Wendell must talk to him sooner rather than later.

With all due respect,we don’t have the technical team. The team is too big for the 3 coaches. How on earth did Erasmus play 90 minutes when he wasn’t in the game?.You can’t win a game if you are afraid of taking chances and are unable to manage the game.Makgalwa should have been introduced early for Erasmus. The time Makgalwa was introduced,we should have brought in a defensive player to manage the game. Our technical team watch the game like the a watching a movie or posing for a photo shoot win no movement nor giving instructions to the players. We are not going to win anything this season with this kind of a technical team.I cannot wait for the season to end so that we can get rid of this useless incompetent technical team.AMEN.

But Erasmus was no longer getting any service in the 2nd half member, but you’re right about the technical team. The introduction of Villa was just a waste of substitution, the man couldn’t even trap nor pass the ball. I feel we should’ve played Keke for the entire 90 minutes. Maluleka, Langerman and Lebusa were just committing silly fouls at the back. The backpasses by Maluleka were just annoying.

The team hasn’t been playing well after the Christmas break, the only game we played well was against Baroka,a scrappy win against Pirates, should have lost against Arrows, remember the penalty by Onyango in the last minute,Celtic was denied a legitimate goal,so we should look at many things in order to charge the performance of the technical team, against SuperSport we played not to loose with all the arsenal at our disposal..Most players aren’t happy judging by their body language,we don’t know whether we’re going or coming back.I really think management made a huge mistake, you just can’t have 2 coaches with equal powers on the bench, that will never work,we should have a coach and assistants. We have lost that culture of carpet football,we have lost our identity. You look at Man city,Liverpool and Barcelona they maintain their identity even when they are winning or losing, you just kick the ball forward and hope for the best unless you have Shalulile.

Since We play to that stadium recently lucky is not on our side I wonder why We don’t get a better alternative stadium than this if Loftus is not available.
We latest to taste victory on our away game and I’m afraid the coming home games we might play to the same stadium that is a curse to us.
Our Wisemen can’t be bad overnight, kanti uMaboe and Onyango bona bayogula nini lokhu kugula our good players.
Onyango doesn’t know how to defend a ball he is defending back to oncoming players the earlier We introduce Goss the better.

The Maboe issue is irritating now,how the hack dd he finish da game?????? Our team lacks creativity in da midfield, and this thing of “managing da game” costed us today because we started to play for a 1-0 scoreline as early as the 65minute…….

Another day of nightmares. Just when every team is increasing its momentum, our performance on the other side is dropping by the day. My worry is that we no longer play combinations. Our players lacks urgency. They look tired, while lacking game plan. I won’t be suprised should we get beaten in the next game or even two next matches.
Worse more is that we create five chances and miss them all, while opponents create one and make use of it.Sometime you can confess that indeed we miss “King Pitso” s touch. This time he would have extended the gap with Swallows, but instead they are breathing on our necks while they still have an advantage of not playing in the CAF or CONFED.

Honestly when sundowns went on a shopping spree and bought players at the and of last season.
I was exited that we are going to have two squad, one for PSL games and the other for CAF matches, new players for the leg games and old players for CAF. but now it seems as coaches are confused, its like putting kids in a candy shop. i mean why cant u give players like Domingos, Mkhulisi, Makgalwa, Modiba, Mkhuma, Kapinga and Magerman game time . give this players game time now than later.
Players like sirino, Maboe, Langerman, Vilakazi, Kekana, Mvala, Maluleka should be used for CAF games and tactic as they posses more experience and give this younger new players a chance. honestly coaches have good players but they don’t believe in them, how do u expect a payer to give you result if u cant trust they will give result.
The result of this game should be a wake-up call to the joint coaches, the Yellow nation is not impressed.
