It’s a New Year and new goals for everyone but for Mamelodi Sundowns it is the same vision and the same target and that starts this weekend in the clash against Orlando Pirates at home this Saturday. Masandawana goes into this game sitting on top of the log standings with 18 points after eight games.
Coach Rulani Mokwena gave some insight on the upcoming encounter and stated that “The preparations have gone well, we tried to integrate the players we have lost due to various reasons and haven’t had them in the previous matches. Hopefully, we will have a stronger squad with more options going into the Orlando Pirates game. After the Jwaneng Galaxy game, we gave the players a few days off to go and spend Christmas with their families and the boys have come back looking in good shape. Now we start working on preparations for the next match and we look forward to it.”
The last time the Brazilians played the Buccaneers it was a goalless draw last season.
“We have started watching them and this has given us more time to go into a more detailed analysis. They have been very consistent in their line up, they have certain schemes that they are also consistent with. They have speed on transition with key players who can make a great decision at that time, they are very dangerous on set-pieces also. Their build-up is very different depending on which goalkeeper they are playing on the day. We are getting closer to making sure we execute the strategies and plans we have prepared for this match,” said Coach Rulani Mokwena.
The game takes place at 15:30 at Loftus Versfeld and will be broadcasted on SS202.
Happy New Year Masandawana!!!!!
Not happy with this line up at all, are players injured or what? Where is Mshishi, I was embarrassed with the last performance against Arrows, this is Pirates, you must throw in Mshishi Erasmus and Shalulile
Thank you very much to the entire technical team for perfect planning and excecution on the Pirates downfall 👆👆👆
