The 2023/24 DStv Premiership champions, according to Defender, Zuko Mdunyelwa, are in a combative mood ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Mpumalanga Stadium.
The 19h30 kick-off away from home comes after a successful week for the Pretoria based side where they confirmed their 7th consecutive league title as well as their advancement to the Nedbank Cup final.
“Preparations for the game against Golden Arows have been going accordingly and the mood is very high because of the win we had over the weekend as well as the fact that we are still holding to the streak of not losing a game this season,” Mdunyelwa stated.
With Abafana Ba Sthende currently 11th on the tally, the Masandawana defender has suggested that his side won’t be resting in their laurels as he anticipates a difficult encounter against Coach Steve Komphela’s men, who will be fighting for a top eight spot.
“They are usually a team that’s in the top eight, so coming into this game as a side that’s currently outside the top eight, they will attack and fight for everything as they will be looking to get back to the top eight. They are not a team we should undermine or think will give us an easy game, we still need to go there and fight and focus on the things we can control,” said the versatile defender.
Mdunyelwa concluded by encouraging the Yellow Nation to make way to the stadium to rally behind Bafana Ba Style. He said: “we are urging the Mamelodi Sundowns supporters to fill the Mpumalanga Stadium on Wednesday. The team needs them as they play a crucial role in our performances, with the beating of the drum and singing.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will do clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows on Wednesday night at the Mpumalanga Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.
