4 Players Facing Late Fitness Tests

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Absa Premiership league victory against Baroka FC left as many as four players with knocks and bruises leading to another crucial league match against Chippa United.

The tight schedule and back-to-back matches also mean that there’s not enough time to recover all the injured players in time for the next fixture.

Hlompho Kekana received what looked like a nasty ankle injury during the bruising encounter. Themba Zwane received a knock on the knee, while Tiyani Mabunda is nursing a knock to his left thigh. Anele Ngcongca has a strain on the left abductors and all four players will undergo a late fitness test to determine their readiness for the match.

There’s an upside in the Sundowns camp however with the possible return from injury of Ugandan international Denis Onyango and influential attacker Gaston Sirino. Onyango has been out with a lower back contusion since the CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly, while Sirino was recovering from a thigh injury.

Good to see the mystro and the shot stopper back…my captain captain can rest he’s done a lot. Speedy recover to the yellow men.

  2. Let me take this time to wish the Yellow nation the best of luck this afternoon, Let us give Chippa a good game and a win before we depart to Morocco, Let us leave the Rats with a serious challenge before we leave. I would like to wish all the injured players speedy recovery as we need everybody to fight our last battles. I can feel a win coming Masandawana. I am on my way to the ground and in this team I BELIEVE. Ka bo yellow.

Its time to unleash your greatness soldiers of the Yellow Nation, if you are the one selected to liberate the yellow Nation you do it with even broken ribs, that is how heroism is birthed, rising above normal, its always about sacrifice, doing it for us, obviously if it was for you , you would have said No at one point in time, We wish a very quick recovery, the question is are these rested guys at the the same determination as these fatigued guys, now its not the freshness , its the belief and determination. Psychologists know exactly that all the victories are now in the mind first than the legs, those who can catch it convincingly will take it to the end, mental strength, we have very good players in the team, who can perform even better but the thing is the resilience, can they be able to bounce back? experience is vital especially when you are playing for results, character and temperament, endurance, perseverance etc, those self driven pushes, what is it that they see far ahead? what they see they can determine themselves to achieve it,the battle lines are drawn, you fight moving forward, doing things right at the right time, its the fighting spirit that we want, all l can say PUSH guys, victory is at hand. We at Sundowns grand stands are a spoiled Yellow Nation, we love it when we win, and cry when we lose,so the team must help us, provoking our emotions to poetry and singing. l await for one goal margin that will make us happy again. Fight! and Fight !KbY

My coach talks as if He guaranteed to win a Champions League trophy or its a mind game when he said he doesn’t care whether he win or not the league.
Those fellow Dawanas who accused us of being unfair to Pitso will one day agree with us that our team is derailed by favoritism, you can’t play the almost same team since the league started in August players are not machines but human beings, they will be tired in Morroco,Kby forever

    1. Mr Kunene l do agree with you 100%. Pisto has a favourite players and l will appreciate if the board of directors of Mamelodi Sundowns to charge him and discipline him for fielding Wayne Arsend . Pisto has been in the soccer for more than 30 years and he knows the rules. Yellow Nations should not suffer due to one man-Pisto.

  5. Dalom

Mzimela hasn’t made any save thus far. I only see Maboe running around like a headless chicken as usual. This team is dead fifififififi

    1. Our coach always criticized other team that they pack a bus while he always does the same thing. We end up playing with seven (7) defenders against Chippa United. All three substitutions were defenders to add up four defenders. So that is not to pack a bus?

  6. Bango

Sundowns will win this convincingly, l am not careful of some supporters, there is a serious contradiction here, body language and words not flowing. Kby

  7. Thembinkosi

Sundowns will win this one as usually Kby we believe en we want to give Pirates the run for their money we are Sundowns

I am not a legal expect. But I want to comment on the Arense issue, 1st Arense is properly registered as a player, it’s not like Ndoro matter. 2nd he was not suspended to partake in the Wits game meaning he is eligible to play. The only charge is that he was not on the team sheet so the PSL should hand a suspended sentence since Arense was eligible. The only crime is that he was called from the stands. To our legal team in my opinion this warrant only a fine and let winner of the be decided in the field of play not in the boardroom. We are confused now. How many points do we have?????

  9. Mzimela

sometime Pitso leave u with more questions than answers he keep Maboe so long that player wasted so many scoring opportunity taking wrong dicetion instead he replace Villa with defender invited Chippa to attack more questions than answers

  10. Zipho

@Mzimela, I hv been complaining abt da preferential treatment given to Maboe since da start of da season,da boy wastes so much attacking moves,it’s like he has only been with da team for 2 weeks n evn if he is having an off day (as often da case),he still gets to finish da game, look at Mahlambi,he didn’t play well against supersport n he was substituted n was on da bench against Baroka,so y can’t it be done with Maboe? I dnt understand this at all

    1. Favourite player Maboe by Pisto that an obvious case bra Sipho. I think we need a new coach who will have a fair and honest treatment. Then we will enjoy the culture of original best soccer of Yellow team shoe shine and piano. Who can forget Ted Dumetro the coach who never discriminated and always field according to performance.

  11. Jaws Buda

Good job coach, the technical staff and the boys not forgetting the supporters, Pirates is now feeling the heat and zolahla nakanjani namhlanje. Let’s now focus on CAF and all the best. KBY I remain

Sundowns lose we cry, when we win we still cry. What has entered our Camp as Supporters of the yellow nation? It is a tough moment. We ought to be grateful at times and embrace positives and shed off the negatives. Is there No reason to celebrate these two narrow victories? why not reserve our negative comments, or keep them to our selves? Do you intend we all join to the negatives? Where is the in born seed of compromise and patience towards one another? Where can you find a perfect being? Are we perfect ourselves in our own lives?are we perfect at our work places?or in our own businesses? if you are then allow that made you perfect to arrive to those imperfect beings. We will never be the same, in any environment people will differ, working the same job with a different vision, goal and attitude. Even us supporters feel different and see things different, we will never be the same, another man’s meat is another man’s poison. Another man once said, ‘a man is born crying, he spend his life complaining and he dies frustrated ‘, l will not choose that route, l will ignore things that want me to be unhappy and embrace those little things that can bring a change in my life. That is life, it only make sense, the one with the ball is marked the most, and a three with nice fruits experiences the pain of more stones. I have nothing personal with anyone, and even my comment will not victimize anyone, above all things , lets learn to forgive and love one another. The mouth can not be understood, it can say anything, but mostly it speaks the abundance of the heart. What is in your heart we shall know of it. It is a life principle. Every tree is known of its fruit. True Sundowns supporters receive my love for you and continue to support this team knowing there is no house without its own challenges. Congratulations Masandawana! Waydad is no stranger to Sundowns, its like Orlando Pirates now, each time they meet no one has to motivate the players, tired or not tired they just have to up the game. Waydad beat Horoya because of the goal keeper who broke his feet on that match, that magine would not have gone that far. So with Sundowns, they owe us , they unseat us from the top of the group, we shall see the corrections.KbY
