A Victorious Weekend in All Competitions for Downs

A busy weekend for Mamelodi Sundowns saw all teams participating in various competitions in their respective leagues and ended with three victories and a total of eight goals collectively!

The first team travelled to Mpumalanga to play against TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership and secured maximum points as Peter Shalulile scored The Brazilians only goal in the first half of the game. Playmaker Andile Jali walked away with the Man of the match award after a stunning performance. This weekend marked twenty six games that the senior team played in the domestic league, a win over Galaxy provided them fifty seven points top of the log and seven points clear ahead of second-placed AmaZulu FC.

The DStv Diski Challenge team bounced back in emphatic fashion when they went face to face with newcomers Tshakhuma FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday morning. Six astonishing goals were scored by the reserve team to restore the winning spirit in their camp. Goals came thanks to strikes from Ofentse Mashiane, Sthabiso Ndaba, Sanele Khumalo, Musa Mdhluli, Jan Baloyi and Paul Mahlanga.

The Diski team remains in the top three in stream 2 of the DStv Diski Challenge Rewired competition.

A solitary goal from Melinda Kgadiete secured Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team a win over the University of Western Cape (UWC) in what was a tough encounter at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria on Sunday afternoon.
