Action-Packed Weekend Ahead For Masandawana!

A jam-packed weekend of football awaits Mamelodi Sundowns with the Men’s First Team, Ladies Team and DStv Diski team all in action this weekend looking to collect three points in their respective campaigns.

On Sunday afternoon, Mamelodi Sundowns men’s team play host to TS Galaxy at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in round 4 of the DStv Premiership. The two sides will be playing each other for only the third time, after Masandawana’s two hard-fought victories against The Rockets in what what their first season in the top-flight. Downs go into the tie having collected seven points from their three league meetings this season, whilst the away side are yet to taste victory this season.

After scoring his first league goal of the season against Kaizer Chiefs, Namibian striker Peter Shalulile will be looking to add to his tally with a repeat of last season’s performance against Galaxy, where he grabbed the opening goal in a 2-0 win in the Capital City. 

Mamelodi Sundowns battle TS Galaxy FC on Sunday afternoon in the DStv Premiership at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport Channel 202 with kick off being at 17H00.

 

Fresh off their COSAFA qualifier success, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be looking to extend their lead in the Hollywoodbets Super League on Saturday in the Tshwane Derby when they welcome rivals Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) at the Groenkloof Stadium.

Masandawana are sitting at the top of the log in the Super League with three games in hand compared to second-placed TUT, who have collected 33 points in their 15 matches played. Downs’ coach Jerry Tshabalala indicated that some of his players will not take part in the encounter due to National team commitments.

“It’s always a big one, we are excited [about the game]. We’re back at training and we’re looking forward to this humdinger team that we will be playing over the weekend. It’s going to be a typical top of the table clash.”

“We don’t have the entire team, but that’s not a train smash, it’s [actually] a good thing when you get your players being selected for different levels of National teams, it really shows that you’re doing something correct. But like I said, we’re looking forward to this one and the girls are looking very ready.”

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies welcome Tshwane University of Technology in the Hollywoodbets Super League on Saturday at Groenkloof Stadium. Kick off is 15h00, live on SABC 1.

 

A thrilling showdown is looming as Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves and AmaZulu Reserve team resume rivalry in round 2 DStv Diski Challenge round 2.

The young Brazilians will be looking to bounce back in style after a disappointing start in their campaign with a 2-1 defeat against SuperSport United, whilst their opposition managed to walk away with a point in their first game of the season. Coach Surprise Moriri’s side will come face to face with Usuthu months after the KwaZulu-Natal based team clinched the Diski challenge Final against them in a 2-0 encounter at the FNB Stadium in May. 

Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves host AmaZulu FC Reserves on Saturday, 18 September at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
