Bafana Ba Style Gear Up to Host Royal AM

Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to continue their pursuit of finishing the season with an unbeaten streak in the DStv Premiership when they host Royal AM on Saturday evening at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

They host the KwaZulu-Natal based outfit in their backyard full of courage and desire following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw away from home to Golden Arrows, while 14th placed Royal AM will be looking to show a response to their last match where they were defeated 1-0. Midfielder, Neo Maema stated that his side is anticipating a difficult game considering the results that both sides are coming from.

“They are a very good side that enjoy playing on the counter. We are expecting them to come at us because of the position they uphold in the league. They are fighting for survival while we also have our goals into getting to the points that we have set for ourselves as a team. So, we are expecting a difficult match and for them to be motivated against us,” he said.

Currently on a record 24 match unbeaten streak this season, Masandwana are still on the run of becoming the first club in South Africa to go through a league campaign without a loss, with only five games left to wrap up the season.

The mandate heading to this encounter for the Brazilians, will be to collect maximum points against a Thwihli Thwahla side they are meeting for the first time this season. They will then take a journey back to Durban for the return fixture that will take place on Tuesday evening. Maema highlighted the importance of ensuring they walk away with a victory on Saturday evening.

“Coming from the results that we got against Golden Arrows is motivation for us to try to better our performance especially in front of goals. We have to make sure that we make our supporters happy. It’s important that we get a result that is required from us,” he said.
