Sundowns Ladies aiming to get back to winning ways against First Touch

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are gearing up for action this weekend against First Touch at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the latest round of the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Khunjulwa Mali maintains that the dropped points against JVW did little to dampen the mood in the camp.

“That was a minor setback, nothing more. We are a team built to win and that is not about to change. Our focus is already set on the next challenge and Sunday’s game will be a perfect opportunity to bounce back,” Mali stated.

Khunjulwa also believes the team has been diligently working in training to capitalize on scoring opportunities and avoid any surprises like last time.

“We are preparing quite well and focusing more on our composure in front of the goal because we realized we created lots of chances, but we only managed to convert one in our previous game. We do not want to leave anything to chance on Sunday. We will be sharper in front of goal and that will make all the difference,” the midfielder concluded.

Malebogo Shawe further echoed Mali’s perspective and expressed confidence that the team is ready to secure maximum points on Sunday.

“JVW presented us with a tough challenge, but that game is now in the past. We are solely focused on what lies ahead. Throughout the week, we have all been working hard to address every aspect of our game. Just as we approach each game one step at a time, we are determined to bounce back stronger than ever,” Shawe said.

Banyana Ba Style has enjoyed success in this fixture in recent times. Last season, the Tshwane giants secured a 2-1 away victory and dominated with an 8-1 win at home. The season before that, Sundowns Ladies comfortably cruised to a 4-0 away triumph and netted eight goals against their Limpopo-based opponents in the return home leg.

Despite their dominance, Shawe is cautious not to get carried away, “We are not taking any game lightly and relying on any records. Everyone in the team is determined to get back into the winning column and score goals because we know what is at stake on Sunday.”

The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and First Touch is scheduled for Sunday, May 12th, at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off set for 13:00.
