Mamelodi Sundowns are on the road for a midweek fixture, as they switch their focus back to domestic duties in what will be their last match of the year. They face Siwelele FC on Wednesday night at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
Masandawana come from the back of a CAF Champions League fixture over the weekend. They made their return and headed straight to preparing for the fixture. Speaking to Defender, Aubrey Modiba, he expressed his joy to be back in the country and touched on the short time they had to prepare for their next match.
“It’s good to be back in the country. It was a long trip with so many hours in the air and on the road. It’s Champions League and you have to do what needs to be done. We are now back and are focusing on the next game which is a league game,” Modiba said.
Looking ahead to the fixture against Siwelele, Modiba admitted the meeting between the two sides will not be an easy one. He also emphasised that previous matches will not matter as they fight to conclude the year on a high note.
“We are expecting a tough game against a tough team. Things are tough now in the PSL as teams are doing extremely well. We are ready for the test and we will not focus a lot on previous results. We have prepared well for that game in order for us to take all the three points but it’s not going to be easy.”
Modiba concluded by encouraging the supporters to come and support the team in their last game of the year. He said: “we would like to encourage the Yellow Nation to come out in numbers to support us in our last game of the year. It will be a nice game to watch and we will make sure to do a great job on the field and make them happy.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will do clash against Siwelele FC on Wednesday night at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 19H30, live on SuperSport TV.
