Five Downs Players Included in Hugo Broos’ AFCON Roster

Mamelodi Sundowns will have five representatives in the South African Men’s National Team squad, following confirmation of coach Hugo Broos’ selection on Monday afternoon. Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Aubrey ModibaTeboho Mokoena, and Bathusi Aubaas are the Downs players who have been named in the 25-man squad.

Coach Hugo and his charges are set to head to participate in the 35th biennial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, scheduled for the 21st of December 2025 until the 18th of January 2026. Following their qualification to the tournament, Bafana Bafana have been placed in Group C, pitted against Angola, Egypt, and Zimbabwe. They will play their first fixture in this year’s edition of the tournament on the 22nd of December 2025 against Angola (kick-off at 19H00).
