Bambanani Mbane Hat-Trick Powers Sundowns Ladies to 7–0 Thrashing of Beauties FC

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies stormed into the semi-finals of the 2025 COSAFA CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers with a resounding 7–0 victory over Namibia’s Beauties FC at the AW Muller Stadium in Johannesburg.

The emphatic win ensured that Banyana Ba Style finished Group A with a flawless record—three wins, nine points and zero goals conceded.

Goalkeeper Andile Dlamini once again marshalled her backline with authority, while the forwards showcased their clinical edge in front of goal. Defender Bambanani Mbane netted a brilliant hat-trick in the 15th, 39th and 53rd minute, while Lebogang Ramalepe added her name to the scoresheet in the 23rd minute.

Refilwe Tholakele struck twice in quick succession in the 73rd and 75th minute, before Munashe Mugwara sealed the rout with an 81st-minute strike.

Forward Nthabiseng Majiya praised the collective effort of both the squad and the technical staff, stressing that the victory reflected the unity and hard work within the camp.

“The team did really well today, and I want to thank the technical team and all the players for their effort. Every single person contributed to this victory, whether on the field or from the bench. The preparation we went through in training really showed on the pitch. We were sharp, focused and determined to execute everything that we had planned. What made me happiest was not just the number of goals we scored, but the way we played as a unit. From the defense to the midfield to the attack, everyone knew their role and carried it out with commitment.”

Fellow forward Boitumelo Rabale echoed the excitement, noting how tactical adjustments helped the Brazilians break down their opponents with ruthless efficiency.

“We did so well today, and I am really proud of the girls. We tweaked a few things after the first 15 minutes, and once we found our rhythm, we created chance after chance and converted them. Scoring seven goals is a huge confidence booster for us as we head into the semi-finals on Friday. Every player gave their best and I think the way we played today showed just how much quality and determination there is in this team. We want to carry this momentum forward and keep raising our level.”

With a perfect group-stage record and momentum firmly on their side, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will next face the overall best second-placed team in Friday’s semi-final at the AW Muller Stadium in Johannesburg.
